NH Chapter One

News & Information

May 10th  Today was the Remembrance ride for Byron Fouty and Alex Jimenez.  It was an honor to meet the families of these two soldiers who captured one year ago. We had about a dozen members attend this event and ride in their honor.  Attendance was good, there was considerable media coverage and Rolling Thunder was mentioned on TV. 

April 26th We had a great day up in Boscowan today.  This was one of several cleanup projects that we do up at the Boscawen Veterans Cemetery.  The turnout was excellent as we 22 people there to work, representing Rolling Thunder. today.   After the work was done, many went up the street to Capelli's for lunch before heading home.  Roger Desjardins who heads the cemetery was very appreciative of the support and efforts of everyone today.

Nov 2nd & 3rd  The annual Rolling Thunder Conference in Washington DC was attended by 11 members representing the 4 New England Chapters.  It was an educational and inspirational event and NH had 5 members in attendance.

 

Oct 20  Today was the GS Mothers Memorial Run in Manchester.  This is the kickoff for a series of fundraisers to erect a Statue in honor of Gold Star Mothers.   Many of the chapter attended as this is a joint venture from many of the groups in the area

 

Oct 6 & 7  What a busy Chapter weekend.   It began with our table at Hogtoberfest.  The weather was great and we had a large turnout of members.  Later that evening, we attended both the Nam Knights event in Concord and a fundraiser in Epping.  This was all followed up by a Sunday morning breakfast to Parkers Maple Barn in Mason NH where we were joined by the Enforcers.

 

Sept 30th  Gold Star Mothers Day, and in NH there was a Ceremony honoring these wonderful Mothers and their sacrifices.  The ceremony was at the Boscowan Veterans Cemetary and was both emotional and dignified.  Rolling Thunder attended with 9 members from both NH and VT 

 

Sept 29th  Today was the NH POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony at the State House.  Rolling Thunder was there as were many other groups including Leathernecks, Marine Riders and Combat Vets.  We were honored to have the group from VT 1 join our 9 members to give a very well represented Roller Thunder Presence!

 

Sept 23rdth  A few of our members were able to get up to Maine to support them in the escort of the Traveling Wall.  To quote one of our own, "Yesterday I was proud to be an American, proud to have been brought up by a Father who served in the Navy and came home injured in WWII.  Proud that I have things instilled in me from him because he was a service man."

 

Sept 22nd  Yes, two events in one day!!  Thats not uncommon.  Now it was off to Liberty House to do our check presentation to the Board for operating funds.  We had 7 members in attendance and after the presentation, we did a Missing Man Ceremony and set up a table in the house. It went very well and was much appreciated by Liberty House.  The table will remain as a reminder of our missing!

 

Sept 22nd  The NH EX-POW Memorial was Dedicated today at the Vet's Cemetery in Boscowen.  Ceremony started at 1500 hr. and ran approximately 1630 hr.  There were about 10 RTNH members along with representation from Nam Knights, the Christian Motorcycle Group, Combat Vets, NH National Guard, and Manchester Veteran's Hospital.  The ceremony was very nicely done.

 

Sept 15th & 16th  NHIS Weekend, an important fundraiser and we had members in attendance both days.  Thanks to all who donated their time to help the chapter raise money for Veterans!

 

Sept 8th  This was a social evening and what a great time we had.  16 of us went to Gauchos in Manchester for dinner,  What an experience!!  This was followed by a trip down to the street to the Verizon Center for the Spirit of America show put on by the US Army.  What a great show, attended by 18 who left moved by the event.

 

August 25th The Run for the Shelter, our Annual Fundraiser foir Liberty House was a great success.  The support from all the various groups and community riders was tremendous.  We worked hard, but it's those who support us and attend who make it a success. Thank You All.

 

August 12th Today there were 2 events, one local in NH for the Marine Corps families and the Rolling Thunder MA Freedom Ride.  The Chapter split into 2 groups so that we could support both.  Scott led the group to Londonderry and Pat led the group to Boston.   Again, we do what we have to!!!

 

August 3rd  The Cross Border run was another success for our Canadian brothers.  In it's 15th year, the CVVQ welcomed us.  There were 6 bikes and 7 members from NH in attendance and we participated in both the flag raising and the reading of names.  On Sat we visited a Veterans Hospital in Montreal. 

 

July 28th  A small group went down to the POW/MIA Vigil down in Saugus MA.  This was the 15th year and we assisted in placing flowers and wreaths at the monuments.

 

July 28th  There was an excellent turnout for the Combat Vets Ghost ride in spite of the rain.  Our chapter was well represented at this event and the CVMA has thanked us for our support

 

July 21st  The first annual Thunder Run was a HUGE success.  We cannot thank enough Naults Honda and Carrabas Restaurant for their support.  Brian and Skip are just the greatest!
